About the speed boat tour from Krabi to the Similan islands

Welcome to the fantastic Similan islands! This one day tour includes hotel transfers, Thai buffet lunch, (soft) drinks, snorkeling equipment, an English guide and insurance. The tour runs daily in high season. It starts at 06:00 with a pickup from your hotel and ends with a transfer back to your hotel at around 19:00. Book it online with a discount here!

What to expect on this tour

In the early morning our air conditoned minivan will pick you up from your accommodation in Krabi town, Ao Nang, Klong Muang, Tub Kaek or surroundings. The exact pickup time will be stated on your voucher. We finish our pickup route and head to Khao Lak on the west coast. We arrive at the pier at around 8:00 for a light breakfast.

After receiving a short briefing about the day, it’s time to try on the snorkeling gear. A life jacket, mask and snorkel are included in the price. At around 9:00 we will board the speed boat and head to our first stop of the day: island 4 (Miang island). We exit the boat and head to the beach, from where you can explore the island. Its crystal clear waters are a good snorkeling spot. If you want, you can jump in to check out the under water life.

We enjoy a tasty Thai buffet lunch here as well. Pick from many options (vegetarian and halal options available) and relax with a drink and a tasty lunch on the beach. When we are full, it’s time to board the speed boat again. We’ll take you to Koh Payu or island 7. There you can enjoy snorkeling and swimming, or just relax on the boat.

Our next stop is island 8 (Bah Ngu). We leave the boat again and explore the island. You can climb up to the viewpoint called Silling Rock, from where you have an amazing view over the bay. The water here is again crystal clear and inviting to go snorkeling! Make your way through the schools of fish and coral or relax a bit a on the beach.

At 15:00 it’s time to head back to Khao Lak on the mainland. The trip takes around 1,5 hours depending on the weather conditions. When we arrive at the pier you can board one of the waiting minivans that will bring you back to your hotel in Krabi or surroundings. You should be back in your hotel no later than 19:30. Itinerary & important information for the Similan excursion

  • 06:00 – 06:30 – Pickup from your hotel and transfer to the pier in Khao Lak by air conditioned minivan
  • 08:00 – Welcome to the pier! Checkin and grab your snorkeling equipment. After a briefing, light snack with coffee and tea we board the speed boat
  • 09:00 – Departure to the Similan Islands
  • 10:30 – Arrival at Island 4 or Miang island. Go sightseeing at the island and/or snorkeling and swimming in the crystal clear waters
  • 11:30 – Enjoy an all-you-can-eat tasty Thai buffet lunch with many options (halal and vegetarian too) and some drinks
  • 12:00 – We leave by speed boat to Island 7: Payu. Enjoy snorkeling and swimming here!
  • 13:00 – At 1 pm it’s time to head to island 9: Ba-ngu. Here you can enjoy swimming in the bay and sightseeing at the beautiful surroundings
  • 14:00 – Time to head to Similan island or island 8! We go to the beach here, where you can relax, enjoy some more snorkeling or climb up to the viewpoint at Silling rock.
  • 15.00 – It’s time to leave the amazing Similan islands and head back to the pier in Khao Lak
  • 16.30 – Arrival at the pier and transfer by air conditioned minivan back to Krabi
  • 19:00 – 19:30 – Arrival at your hotel in Krabi, Ao Nang, Klong Muang, Tubkaek or surroundings

It's quite a long drive but the similan island were the most beautiful islands we have seen on our Krabi holiday. The water is still good for snorkeling and it really left me with a paradise feeling. Bring some entertainment for on the road and enjoy!
