About the Khao Sok tour

Welcome to the Khao Sok tour from Krabi! What to expect on the Khao Sok tour

The Khao Sok tour starts with a pickup from your hotel in Krabi town, Ao Nang, Klong Muang or Tub Kaek beach. Our air conditioned minivan will take you in about 2 hours to Khao Sok national park. The way there is already amazing through the Phang Nga region, where you can see large carst and limestone mountains covered in trees. This area is much like Ha Long Bay in Vietnam and receives many visitors from around the world.

At around 10:00 we arrive at Khao Sok. Here we board a longtail boat and head onto Chiew Larn Lake. Admire the beautiful fresh emerald water around you and be sure to take some pictures of the odd looking rocks and mountains around you. If you are lucky, you might see a group of monkeys as well! The area around is made of sandstone, mudstone and limestone rocks.

When we finish our trip over the lake, it’s time for a hike to a hidden cave. This cave is coral cave for a reason. The stones inside are absolutely beautiful and have been formed by water and stone for billions of years. The hike towards the cave is moderate and can be done by anyone unless you have a serious condition or are pregnant. We advise you not to take this tour in that case. Have a look around the cave and when we are done, it’s time for the next activity: bamboo rafting.

Take a seat on the bamboo raft and we’ll take you towards the raft house restaurant. Here it’s time for a delicious lunch. We have vegetarian and halal options available. Freshen up with free (soft) drinks, water and food and enjoy the beautiful views from the restaurant. When you are done eating you can go swimming in the lake or take a kayak and explore the surroundings. This is a time to relax and can be spent the way you want it. If you feel like diving in, please do so! You can also take the kayak towards the rocks and jump in the water from the kayak.

At last it’s time to head home: we leave Khao Sok at around 15:00 for the 2 hour drive back to Krabi. We should arrive at your hotel at around 17:00, depending on the weather and road conditions. Group of 4 (i guess we were lucky) and departure from Ao Nang on time. The kayaking and swimming in this beautiful area is amazing. Be sure to bring both insect spray and dry clothes. The hike is very doable, also for our 8 year old son. Recommended tour!

beautiful place

We joined this tour in october. The area is absolutely beautiful and the highlight of our 3 week stay in Thailand. We plan on staying here for a couple of days next year
